They shared some similarity with us, but they are not the same kind.
Many were to treat the little one as their own child. Mostly for those who have no children, or little one for a couple to take care with. Some says it was the start of the training before having a real child, but so true somehow they will be an orphan after the breakup.
It started with a kitten in my house where my mum never to allow us to have one my childhood.
Most of the time, Bubble (cat's name) is very naughty, sneak under the table and try to scratch your leg whenever you walk pass him. It wasn't a real scratching with the claws, just paw, or perhaps to touch. They just like to grab anything that is moving, like guy's eyeball catching on girls passingby, from 7 even to 70s.
There is one time while I am cleaning the dishes, he walked toward my leg and lean the body a bit and go away.... Things happened in silent mode, as none of us is making any sound during this scene.
Well, sometimes, perhaps we just need someone to hug with saying nothing and doing nothing extra. That act is more than enough to ease the partner, especially when there is a little doubt for the day.
A hug from the back when you reach home after a tiring day, always is a plus compares to reach home and there is someone moaning about almost every little thing that you are not prepared yourself to accept it at that moment, it just another burden for the emotion level.
Beside the silent mode from the pets, they are actually a good listener. They will never spread or leak your secret, their loyalty level are very high indeed, as they would never turn their back towards you, or cheating on you. All they need is just meals and cares. That sounds like a basic needs like human does. Putting aside the extra requirement from your partner, you can meet their requirement easily and in return the enjoyment for fulfilling.
